When You Smile (Devotional and News: Moving House!)

These days I've been quite absent and I haven't posted the pictures I was supposed to...but other things have happened, too. Well, my older sister got a job, she's working all day every day 6 days a week - Joshua passed his test and now he is a professional computer technician, he's started taking driving lessons - my Dad got a transfer job but has been continuing with his old job as well, flying between Bloem and the Cape often - we've been frantically cleaning and renovating the house everywhere as we're trying to sell it - we're trying to arrange homes for our guinea pigs (harder than it seems) - and on top of it all, we will be moving to Somerset-West. It's pretty busy these days. But not busy enough that I haven't had time to post on my blog; so I blame myself for being lazy. I was going to put what is below in a separate post, but I just felt like I should add it in this one.
Sometimes when things are so busy, I can get irritated, stressed, and concerned about the things I do not really need to be worrying about. I too often don't let my attitude stay locked up in the back of my mind. But one of the worst things is that I also too often stress about what other people think of me. Then comes the voice...
If you're like how you are all the time, then what do you think they would think?
There is a quote by Dr Suess;
"Today I shall behave like this is the day I shall be remembered for."
I need to get my behavior in order.
If I was to be remembered for something, I wouldn't want it to be for a grumpy, sarcastic, lazy, stubborn and mean person. I would want to be remembered for smiling. For loving God, for being cheerful, for being kind, for thinking good things and being thoughtful. If I am going to be pictured in someones mind after I'm gone, I need to be smiling. The thing is, it doesn't matter if you have the most perfect lips, the body, or the hair. Doesn't matter if you're a super model or not. It matters about the attitude.

If you are always happy and thoughtful, you will be remembered for that. Another thing is to think about good things. It will reflect in what you do and what you say.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, what every is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is anything worthy, think about these things." - Philippians 4:8

Let's smile more often.

Guinea Pig Babies

Hey everyone - a few days ago one of our guinea pigs had four healthy babies...you can check the adorable box three times before I go on. Anyway, I decided that it would be fun to do creative photography with them, and here are the results. : )

^ This is Cracker. He was so good while I was clicking away.

^ I love the white streak that stretches all the way to his eye...

^ Cuteness overload!!

^ Meet the other three precious things! From left to right - Moppet, Casper and Kat.

^ Triple treasure!

^ Kat in a cup. *trying not to use to many smiley faces...*

I hope you enjoyed the photos of our ridiculously cute sweeties.

P.S. I know I'm supposed to have already posted more holiday photos - but I'm running behind. I'll post them as soon as I can.
