Guinea Pig Pups

I haven't told you guys - well, I'm telling you now :) - we got two long-haired guinea pigs from a close friend of my Mom's in February. The male is Grace's, and his name is Caramel. The female is Mila's and her name is Finella. But the best part is yet to come...they had two pups (that's what guinea pig babies are called. I used to think that they only had three at the most, but apparently they can have more!) last Thursday, a day after my birthday. (what a wonderful present!) They are SO adorable! Here are some pictures:

^ This is Flossy. She is my little guinea pig and she is the size of a big hamster or a mouse (like her brother, but we'll get to him just now). She's so sweet and she's the biggest out of the two. We reckon her favourite is her dad, because she is always following him where ever he goes.

^ Here is her brother, Pete. He's just the right size to hold in your hand (like his sister) and he is gentle and meek (compared to his sister). But Pete was born disfigured - he has a twisted paw and a leg that is too short, plus an eye that is always closed. He still walks and runs and follows his mom. We love him very much and he is a special pet.

^ The two siblings cuddling together on Grace's hand...

^ Now, here is the big daddy, Caramel. He likes to sit on our laps (if you are feeding him his favourite, lettuce) and he is very energetic. The pups love him (especially Flossy) and we do, too.

^ Last of all, but certainly not least, Finella, the mom. Every now and then she nips and she doesn't like us very much, but the family just wouldn't seem right without this darling character, who cares for her kids.

We are all so glad to have such wonderful pets that God gave to us to look after!
I hope you enjoy the pictures! Have any of you had guinea pigs before?

Birthdays In February

Every February, in our family, there are lots of birthdays. The 12th is Dad's and Perrin's birthday. Then we have three in a row - on the 26th, Mom, on the 27th, Johny, and on the 28th, Grace. I wanted to post a portrait of each of them and write some words about how wonderful they are. :)

^ My Dad. He is generous, funny, hard-working, smart, good-looking, honest, righteous and someone who teaches his children to look to God, to trust in God, to obey God and to follow God. I am pretty sure I could not have asked for better.

^ Perrin. My beautiful, determined, intelligent, responsible, hard-working, giving, unique, ambitious, truster in God and loving sister. She is a great older sister and I am so thankful to have her - not everyone has an older sister (let alone a sister) and especially not one like this.

^ My Mom is brave, clever, caring, gorgeous, hard-working, elegant, a fabulous role model, a fantastic mother, creative, an adorer of Jesus, a Proverbs 31 woman, devoted to be a blessing to her family and amazing. I want to be like her and I am so glad that God has given her to me!

^ Johny is my older brother by three years and he is wise, helpful, kind, handsome, a daredevil, hard-working, amusing, athletic, God-fearing and cool. I consider myself very blessed to have a awesome older brother like this.

Grace is my little sister - joyful, playful, fun, pretty, lovely, different, bright, full of life, optimistic, sporty, hard-working, willing and loves Jesus. Her cheerful attitude is contagious and she is such a sweet younger sister!

So, happy birthday to these marvelous people!

P.S. Tomorrow is my birthday - only six days after Grace's!

Worth More Than Gold

My little sister, Grace, got a CD of Britt Nicole's (Gold) for her birthday from her God Mother. Her music is beautiful. Here is one of her music videos:

Just fantastic! Here are the lyrics:

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

You were walking on the moon, now you're feeling low
What they said wasn't true, you're beautiful
Sticks and stones break your bones, I know what you're feeling
Words like those won't steal your glow, you're one in a million

This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
You're worth more than gold
(Gold gold you're gold)

Well everybody keeps score, afraid you're gonna lose
Just ignore they don't know the real you
All the rain in the sky can't put out your fire
Of all the stars out tonight, you shine brighter

This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
You're worth more than gold
(Gold gold you're gold)

So don't let anybody tell you that you're not loved
And don't let anybody tell you that you're not enough
Yeah there are days when we all feel like we're messed up
But the truth is that we're all diamonds in the rough
So don't be ashamed to wear your crown
You're a king you're a queen inside and out
You glow like the moon, you shine like the stars
This is for you, wherever you are

Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, oh, oh,
You're gold

This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
(So hold your head) So hold your head up high,
It's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
You're worth more than gold
(Gold gold you're gold)

So don't be ashamed to wear your crown
You're a king you're a queen inside and out

What do you guys think? Somedays when I feel down and nothing special or unique at all, I need this. I need it because God really wants us to know how much he adores us, and in return, all we have to do is adore Him back, and share this amazing thing with others who don't know. It is a wonderful song, it makes me remember how deep and wide God's love for us is and how much he treasures us. Anything God treasures is worth WAY more than gold.
