Polyvore!

Hey everybody!
Recently, I've joined a site called Polyvore. It's so much fun. : ) So I wanted to share with you guys. Polyvore is a place where you can create sets.
This is how it works...once you have an account on Polvore you can get started. You put together different items to make an outfit, or even a room. Once you're done, click publish. All you need to do now is add tags, a description and a title.
The flamingo t-shirt I used in the outfit above is my Mom's own design. So, if you want to get anything from other webs, click on the item you want - there should be a button at the top of your computer screen that says 'Clip to Polvore'. Click on it. Then add tags.

P.S. Since nobody entered my last drawing challenge, and I feel like God says I should, I've decided I'm going to stop. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone who's ever entered! There's a small chance I might start something else next year!

Christa Wells

We have a few songs of Christa Wells' from Noise Trade, a place where you can get free music. I absolutely love her singing and songs, she's so poetic and her music is beautiful. One of my favourites is 'Panning For Gold', I listen to it over and over again.
Here is a YouTube video of hers:

^ She sang to her mother a few months back on Mothers Day. The song is stunning and very sweet.

Christa is a christian singer and songwriter. At the moment she is doing a fund raise, and if you'd like to help her out, visit THIS link. Plus you can check our her website, CLICK HERE. Please spread everything I have just shared - I'm sure she'd really, really appreciate it.
Thank you for reading this!

Crocheting, My New Hobby!

^ (We have a basket full of beautiful wool!)

Lately I have been crocheting - but it started a while ago, in August. It was very cold, windy, dry month in Bloemfontein, and there were many fires. But one Friday my Mom's old friend came to visit  and she stayed until Sunday. Her name was Carmen, and she brought plenty of scarves and wool and needles. Grace and I were inspired. Well, Carmen was mostly into knitting, so she taught Grace that; but, she did know crocheting so she and my Mom helped me learn. I started a scarf  and when she had left (we had a lovely time with her) I dropped out and stopped, so did Grace.

^ (My scarf I'm working on!)

A couple of days ago we found our scarves and started again! It's relaxing and fun, so why don't you try sometime? : )

As you can see, I haven't got very far. But I'm getting faster everyday.
My colour scheme is dark blue, light purple and creme.

We have a few books on crocheting, and the pieces of artwork in them amaze me. This book is called '200 crochet blocks for blankets, throws and afghans' by Jan Eaton. I am enjoying my new hobby so much!
Thank you for reading this post!

I named it Fifth out of Ten because I am the fifth child out of ten.
I was inspired by so many to blog, but the first one that made me want to have an online journal was...Heidi-Marie's blog.
I chose this template you're looking at right now, 'cos I love cupcakes, and, I guess I like polka dots quite a bit. ;)
Some of my posts contain stories, poetry or even songs. That's because I want to be and author someday, and I believe God does, too.

Spring of 2012

I know that one of my most recent posts is called 'Snow!' - and yes, that's how long I've been gone. But, as I told you in the last time I blogged, I'm back, and it's Spring again! : )
I am so happy to have the sun come out from behind the clouds. There are many things that are so enjoyable as I walk through our garden in the Spring of 2012...

....the smell of pollen in the air...

...a cat lying in the sun. (George)

Orange daisies!

The detail and beauty of all of the plants...

Our peaches just beginning to change colour.

Sunny faces!

All of the bright colours.

...new geraniums from the nursery...

And pansies when they aren't supposed to be growing till Winter.

It's all so beautiful. Spring is such a cheerful season. And I plan to enjoy this Spring very much. :D I hope you enjoy whatever your garden is like at the moment, too.

P.S. All photos taken and edited by me!

Yes, I'm Back!

Hi, all of my followers and (hopefully) you people who are thinking about following me! I know I haven't been on my blog for ages. I feel so bad - but then again, I feel so good to be back! So much to catch up on! But I will be posting at least once a week from now on, and if I'm going to take a break again, I'll let you all know. ;)

I added a picture of mine to this post, what do you think? : )

You're Having a Bad Day...

Hey everybody. : ) Here's a poem I wrote...hope it encourages and inspires you.

You're Having a Bad Day...

You’re having a bad day,
But it’ll be alright, it’ll be OK-
You’ve just got to hold on,
You’ve just got to be strong-
Because Jesus is always going to be with you,
And He knows exactly what you’re going through.

You’re trying to survive these tough times, I know,
The Lord is there to love, comfort and protect, though.
You’re stressed, yes, and under those conditions I would be the same,
When it comes to coping with pain human beings can be pretty lame-
But God is not like that, He’s graceful, caring and invincible-
Yes, our God is absolutely, utterly, amazingly wonderful!

You’re having a bad day,
But it’ll be alright, it’ll be OK-
You’ve just got to hold on,
You’ve just got to be strong.
Put all of your trust in the Lord completely,
And He will guide you always, don’t worry.

Yes, it’s hard, but that’s part of being a child of God,
We have to suffer and be a servant for Him, like it or not-
But the Lord said he’d be there for us, and He’s true,
Every day, anywhere, every second He’s there for you.
Have faith, copy Jesus Christ and hold your chin high-
We’re here to spread the gospel and praise the Lord, right?
You had a bad day.
But that’s OK.
We all have days like those,
Just got to hold on,
Just got to be strong,
And the Lord will give you the strength.
So look to Him everyday-
Don’t ever forget to pray.
God’s watching over you, He cares,
Don’t give up, don’t you ever dare.
You had a bad day-
That’s alright, that’s OK,
You’ve just got to hold on,
Just got to be strong.

Blessings,

Snow!

Hi guys! Yesterday it snowed...and snowed...big fat flakes, and then smaller ones, and then back to  big ones. : ) Here are some pictures...

Snowflakes are absolute wonders. So delicate and fantastically created...and, who created them? Only the most awesome savior, the creator of the universe and the creator of my family...we are all wonderfully and fearfully made, in the image of God, which is way more beautiful than snowflakes...

It was great to have some snow...our city is not usually known for that! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly - savoring every moment. The trampoline was so slippery and coated with snow - all the more fun to play on!
This is a good memory I plan to keep. : )

(Bonus pic before I log off! ;) Just an image my Mom took when Belle had her first litter of puppies...we made the hats ourselves!)
Blessings,

Beautiful Gifts From The Lord

Hey everyone! So sorry I haven't posted in awhile...oh muffins, I always start like that! ;) Let me rephrase; Hey everyone! You're about to experience wonderful pics that the Lord allowed me to capture - you're about to experience true words about what the Lord has given me - and you're about to experience joyfulness...so let me get on with it. :)

We left to go to our farm last Saturday. Wow - south of Africa is a stunning place. You only need to see these snapshots I took on our way to believe that:

I haven't been out of South Africa, except when I was 5 months old I visited America - but I must say, I am completely satisfied here. It is one of the most beautiful places ever and I am super happy that God watched over me and chose this place for me to be born.

And though I love my country, if there is one thing I am the most grateful towards the Lord (apart from being my savior and dying for my sins) it's my family. They are fantastic, brilliant, wonderful and awesome people...(not to mention good-looking, lol)

Dad, Levi and Mom:

Sisters:

Brothers:

While God has given me my family and and a beautiful country, he's also given us a beautiful farm. A stunning view of the Sleeping Giant ( a mountain you will see in the images to come) and other gorgeous features are apart of it. Recently one of our biggest Gum Trees fell down. It was so huge standing up and we could never climb it, but now that it's on the ground...well, what can stop us?

What fun. :) In the background you can see the Sleeping Giant...you have to see the full view if you wanna know why it's called that, though.

While it has high branches for the older ones to climb on, it also has lower branches for the younger ones to play on.

Grace was determined to go as high as possible...

(Climbing down now - I think she realized she'd gone far enough, lol)

Here I am against the tree. We took wood up to the farmhouse afterwards...Gum Tree is good to burn in the fire.

It's like a jungle under the leaves...but it's like a wonderful, nature playground.

Mila was bouncing on a low branch she found...look at the smile. :)

But there's more. Something so joyful and happy - something that will bring smiles all around - something the Lord has made for our pleasure, and His own, too.
Children's play.

And the last thing...the Lord gave us sunsets...to end a beautiful day...

So thank you, Father God, for all the beautiful gifts you have spoiled me with!!
