Butterfly World

Recently we went to a place in Klapmuts (a small town awhile away from where I live) called Butterfly World. It was awesome, but I'll tell you about it while you look at the pictures I've added below. :) (all photos taken and edited by me)

^ This was my favorite butterfly there, and it was the biggest. I don't know the name of it's type of species, though. The first thing we did when we got there (after we'd payed the entrance fee) was walk into a room that was FULL of butterflies - all different types. They were flying above our heads, and one of them landed on Hudson's finger. The one above flew onto my shoulder than flew away.

^ This was the rarest one there. It's called the Glass Winged Butterfly. Sorry the photo is not such good quality, but it was the only one I could get of one of these little critters! I think they look so pretty and delicate.

^ The first photograph I took there.

^ Black and red velvet wings. <3

^ Close up of the wing of the first butterfly. SO beautiful. And my God made this.

^ Just so stunning!

^ There were plenty more creatures to see; and the next thing was a bat and a parrot who were friends. They kept touching each other with their noses (or beaks) and speaking to each other in...well, bat and parrot language. : ) It was adorable!

^ I liked this birdie. ; )

^ This guy and some of his friends were lazing about the place.

^ Above our heads there were cute Marmosets bouncing about.

^ Display of Butterflies of the African Savannah.

^ Again with one of the fuzz buckets. This little Marmoset was holding his tail and using his hands to shake it.

^ Pretty orange butterfly.

^ An adorable bunch of cheerful Sun Conures. The two in the background look like to friends talking and laughing together.

^ Green birdie here flew onto Johny's backpack he was carrying. Such a sweetie - and very tame, too. The same bird also hopped onto my shoulder and stayed there for awhile. Before we left I had to take him off.

^ They had lots of birds in one enclosure, as well as about 50 or more guinea pigs (I'm not exaggerating) running underfoot. They were so super cute and there were plenty of babies as well. Sorry I couldn't get a picture - they were running all over the place!

^ A very striking gorgeous parrot.

^ Just before the little guy hopped on me. : )

Here's a few butterfly quotes;

Happiness is like a butterfly,
The more you chase it,
The more it eludes you.
But if you turn your attention to other things,
It comes and sits softly on your shoulder.
~~~
Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over,
It became a butterfly.
~~~
If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.
